Not a syllabus. A day with a shape to it, so a small child always knows roughly what happens next, which is most of what makes a child feel safe somewhere.
Two languages, spoken not taught
Justina is Peruvian and speaks Spanish and English all day, to whichever child is in front of her. There is no Spanish hour. A child who hears both from a person who means them picks up both, and a child who arrives speaking only Spanish is never the odd one out.
The shape of a day
Arrival and free play, something structured mid-morning, lunch, nap for those who still nap, outdoor time when the weather allows, quiet play until pick-up.
Naps
On a schedule that follows the child rather than the clock, especially for the youngest.
Outside
Every day it is not dangerous to be out. Bring a coat that can get muddy.
